Best Email Marketing Agencies for DTC Brands in 2026: The Buyer's Shortlist
Last updated: October 14, 2026 · By Melanie Balke, Founder & CEO, The Email Marketers · 12 min read
We compared ten email marketing agencies on five published criteria: verifiable results, who does the work, retention depth, pricing transparency and verified current activity. The Email Marketers is our top pick for 7 to 9-figure DTC brands because every account gets five senior specialists and the whole retention program, not just email, with published pricing from $4,400 a month. Below is the full list of the best email marketing agencies for DTC brands in 2026, with pricing, scores and who each one fits.
Key Takeaways
- The Email Marketers (91/100) is our pick for 7 to 9-figure DTC brands that want a senior team running email, SMS, push, direct mail, subscriptions, memberships, loyalty and referrals. Published packages run $4,400 to $12,999 a month.
- Flowium (84) is the safest systematized default for growth-stage DTC brands, with six-person pods and a $1,000 Clutch minimum. Fuel Made (79) is the pick when site, checkout and email problems need fixing together.
- Budget changes the answer. Under about $1M in revenue, an agency retainer eats the return. MH Digital, Sticky Digital or a coaching program fits better, and InboxArmy publishes managed service from $1,500 a month.
- The number to hold any agency to is email and SMS as a share of store revenue: 30 to 40% in the best-performing, growing accounts we see, against 10 to 15% when most brands arrive. Agree which tool and attribution window measure it before you sign.
- We publish this list and rank ourselves first. Every score is broken out below so you can re-weight the rubric and see where your own #1 lands.
What a DTC Email Marketing Agency Actually Is (and What It Is Not)
A DTC email marketing agency plans, builds and runs the owned channels that bring a direct-to-consumer brand's customers back: the automated flows that fire on store behavior (welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back), the campaign calendar, segmentation, pop-ups and list growth, deliverability and reporting. Most work in Klaviyo because it is built on store data, and most run SMS alongside email.
DTC is a specific job. A DTC brand owns its customer relationship and its margin, so the agency is judged on repeat purchase, average order value and customer lifetime value, not on open rates. That is also where the category splits. Some agencies are email and SMS shops: they run the two channels well and stop there. Others are retention agencies: they own the whole repeat-purchase program, which pulls in push, direct mail, subscriptions, memberships, loyalty and referrals.
What it is not: a performance agency that runs paid social with email as an add-on, a production shop that builds templates to a brief, or a platform vendor's support team. All three are legitimate purchases. Know which one you are buying, because they get quoted side by side as if they were the same thing, and the price difference between them is mostly a difference in what you are actually getting.
How We Ranked These Agencies
Every agency was scored out of 100 on five criteria, checked on each agency's own site, its Clutch profile and Klaviyo's partner directory on August 19, 2026:
- Verifiable results (30 points). Published case studies with named clients and real numbers, ideally with attribution settings visible. Logo walls and unattributed revenue banners score zero.
- Who does the work (25 points). Senior, accountable, meetable teams score high. Junior or anonymous delivery scores low, however good the sales call was.
- Retention depth (20 points). Is email and SMS the core craft, and does the agency go beyond it into the rest of the repeat-purchase program?
- Pricing transparency (15 points). Published rates or honest minimums beat "book a call to find out."
- Verified current activity (10 points). The agency operates in the form it claims today, on its own site, on Clutch and in Klaviyo's directory.
Scores are identical to our ecommerce email marketing agency comparison, on purpose. If a ranking changed depending on which page you landed on, you should not trust either one.
The Best Email Marketing Agencies for DTC Brands in 2026
Ten agencies cleared the bar. They are ranked by total score, and every entry ends with who it suits best, because the right answer depends on your revenue, your category and how much of the retention program you want handed over.
1. The Email Marketers, best for 7 to 9-figure DTC brands that want senior-only retention
Bottom line: a Los Angeles retention marketing agency running email, SMS, push, direct mail, subscriptions, memberships, loyalty and referrals for 7 to 9-figure DTC brands, with five senior specialists on every account and no juniors. Despite the name, email is one of eight channels we run. Klaviyo Platinum Master partner. Score: 91.
We generated more than $103 million in attributed client revenue in 2025 for brands including Grüns, Koala Eco, BodyBio, Gimme Seaweed, Plunge, Llama Naturals and The Freeze Pipe. Every client gets a monthly revenue forecast, a rolling 90-day roadmap, board-ready monthly reports and our client dashboard, and onboarding starts with two weeks of customer interviews and voice-of-customer research so the emails use the language your buyers actually use.
Pricing: published. Four monthly packages: Bronze $4,400 (8 emails), Silver $5,988 (12 plus unlimited SMS), Gold $7,999 (18 plus unlimited SMS) and Platinum $12,999 (30 plus unlimited SMS), month-to-month, with 10% off for six months. A one-time flow setup package is $12,999. Full rate card.
Best suited for: 7 to 9-figure DTC brands that want one senior team owning the whole retention program and reporting on revenue, lifetime value and repeat purchase. Brands under about $1M in revenue should not hire us; the retainer is too large a share of revenue to pay back.
2. Flowium, best for growth-stage DTC brands that want a systematized full service
Bottom line: a Klaviyo Elite Master agency founded in February 2017 by Andriy Boychuk that delivers email and SMS through standardized six-person account pods and tightly documented processes. Score: 84.
The systemization is the product: audits, flow builds and campaign calendars follow strict, repeatable processes, backed by one of the largest educational content libraries in email marketing. Clutch shows 23 reviews at 4.9, minimum projects from $1,000 and an hourly band of $100 to $149. Roughly 80% of the client base is midmarket.
Pricing: $1,000 minimum on Clutch at $100 to $149 an hour. The $2,500 to $10,000 monthly retainer range quoted on many ranking pages traces to Flowium's own blog rather than a published rate card.
Best suited for: growth-stage DTC brands that want a proven, documented system rather than a bespoke engagement. Brands that want individually tailored strategy, or anything beyond email and SMS, will find the templated cadence constraining.
3. Underground Ecom, best for 8 to 10-figure DTC brands, especially in the UK and Europe
Bottom line: a London-based retention agency describing itself as a global team of 120+, and Klaviyo's 2025 Agency Partner of the Year for EMEA, listed at Elite Master in Klaviyo's directory. Score: 80.
Accounts get layered support (a CRM director, a CRM manager, designers and copywriters) with a senior strategy layer above it. AG1 is on its homepage client wall, and Huda Beauty and Oh Polly appear in its published work.
Pricing: unpublished, effectively five figures a month.
Best suited for: large DTC brands, particularly in the UK and Europe, that want enterprise depth and consistency. Brands that want one senior operator week to week will feel the distance a layered structure creates.
4. Fuel Made, best for Shopify Plus DTC brands that need site, CRO and email fixed together
Bottom line: a 17-person, all-senior, all-US agency in Colbert, Washington, a Shopify Plus Partner since 2011, pairing Klaviyo Elite Master email with Shopify Plus design, development and conversion optimization. Score: 79.
No other agency here holds top-tier credentials on both platforms. If your retention problems are tangled up with site problems (a leaky checkout, weak signup capture, slow product pages), one team fixing both sides is a real advantage. 28 Clutch reviews at 5.0.
Pricing: $10,000 minimum projects on Clutch at $150 to $199 an hour.
Best suited for: Shopify Plus DTC brands whose email results are held back by the store itself. Ask for email-specific case studies rather than blended ones, and expect premium rates and limited capacity.
5. MH Digital, best for sub-$10M DTC brands that want senior US attention
Bottom line: MH Digital Consulting Group is a deliberately small, 2 to 9 person, all-US lifecycle consultancy founded in 2017 and led by Rob Howard and Adam Moncrief. Score: 77.
It pairs real multi-platform depth (Braze alongside Klaviyo, plus technical craft like AMP and dark-mode optimization) with the most accessible senior attention on this list: 24 Clutch reviews at 5.0, a $1,000 minimum and an hourly band of $50 to $99.
Pricing: $1,000 minimum on Clutch at $50 to $99 an hour.
Best suited for: DTC brands under about $10M that would rather have a senior operator at a small firm than a junior pod at a big one. High-volume campaign production will outgrow it quickly.
6. Chronos Agency, best for fast-scaling DTC brands that want email, SMS and push
Bottom line: a Singapore-headquartered Klaviyo Elite Master agency of roughly 80 specialists, founded in 2017, with a Sydney office, claiming 500+ brands served and $400M+ in email-attributed revenue. Score: 76.
Chronos adds push notifications, a channel many email agencies skip, and has one of the larger review bases in the category at 58 Clutch reviews, with roughly six people per account. Delivery is centered in the Philippines and Malaysia, and the agency states its client teams work US hours for US brands.
Pricing: unpublished. Its Clutch profile lists a $10,000 minimum at $100 to $149 an hour.
Best suited for: fast-scaling DTC brands with large lists that want email, SMS and push run at volume. Ask exactly who your strategist is, how senior they are and which hours they overlap with yours.
7. Hustler Marketing, best for value-conscious DTC brands that want big-agency output
Bottom line: a remote-first email and retention agency founded in November 2017 by Bostjan Belingar, Klaviyo Elite Master, claiming 400+ brands served and delivering through four-person squads, with account managers capped at three stores each. Score: 75.
A global remote bench keeps prices competitive while the pod cap protects attention. Clutch reviewers (17 reviews at 5.0) praise output comparable to larger agencies at competitive prices.
Pricing: $5,000 minimum on Clutch, with $10,000 to $49,000 listed as the most common engagement size.
Best suited for: DTC brands that want a dedicated execution team at a competitive price. The team spans 20+ countries, so brands that want a senior strategist in their own timezone will notice.
8. Homestead Studio, best for DTC brands that want acquisition and retention under one roof
Bottom line: an Appleton, Wisconsin full-funnel agency, Klaviyo's 2025 Americas Agency Partner of the Year and an Elite Master partner, working across email, SMS, paid media, conversion optimization and web design. Verndale acquired it in March 2026. Score: 72.
Pricing: $5,000 minimum projects on Clutch at $200 to $300 an hour, the highest hourly band here.
Best suited for: DTC brands that want one agency accountable for both acquisition and retention. Email is a smaller share of its work than at the specialists above, so ask how the email practice is staffed after the acquisition.
9. Sticky Digital, best for beauty, wellness and food and beverage DTC boutiques
Bottom line: a female-founded California retention boutique at stickydigital.io, co-founded by Nikki Tooman and Mariel Kilroy, focused on DTC brands with predominantly female customer bases. Klaviyo's directory lists it at Platinum Master, in San Diego. Score: 69.
Pricing: $1,000 minimum on Clutch at $100 to $149 an hour, the most accessible specialist entry point here.
Best suited for: beauty, wellness and food and beverage DTC brands that want vertical pattern-matching from a boutique team. Its Clutch profile currently shows no reviews, so ask for direct references.
10. InboxArmy, best for DTC brands that need production at volume or support on another platform
Bottom line: a Grapevine, Texas production agency of 120+ specialists supporting 40+ email platforms, with managed services from $1,500 a month on a published pricing page and a 4.9 rating across 71 Clutch reviews. Its Klaviyo badge reads Master Silver Partner. Score: 67.
Pricing: managed services from $1,500 a month, published.
Best suited for: DTC brands that already have a strategy and need production capacity, or brands mid-migration between platforms. It is not a retention strategy partner, and it does not claim to be.

Email Marketing Agency vs Retention Marketing Agency: What Is the Difference?
An email marketing agency manages email, and usually SMS: flows, campaigns, segmentation and deliverability. A retention marketing agency owns a bigger question, how to grow repeat-purchase profit and customer lifetime value, which pulls in push, direct mail, subscriptions, memberships, loyalty and referrals. For a DTC brand past about $10M, the second mandate is usually worth more, because email and SMS are only two of the levers that bring a customer back. Our retention marketing agency comparison covers that field.
What Results Look Like with The Email Marketers
- Koala Eco, September 2025 to April 2026. Email and SMS share of store revenue went from 12% to 23% in the US and from 19% to 31% in Australia, with more than $700,000 of net-new revenue above the September baseline on a $4,500 a month retainer.
- The Freeze Pipe. Attributed email revenue grew 113% to $894,661 in five months, while total revenue doubled year over year to $3.49M. Case study.
- BodyBio. One rebuilt welcome series lifted welcome conversion from 1.06% to 4.85% and revenue per recipient from $0.95 to $4.65, earning $138,876 in a single quarter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best email marketing agency for DTC brands?
For 7 to 9-figure DTC brands that want a senior team running the whole retention program, The Email Marketers scores highest on our published rubric (91/100). Flowium (84) is the strongest systematized option for growth-stage brands, and Fuel Made (79) fits Shopify Plus brands that need site and email fixed together.
How much does a DTC email marketing agency cost?
Most charge between $1,500 and about $13,000 a month in 2026. Production shops start around $1,500, specialist agencies typically run $2,500 to $10,000, and The Email Marketers publishes packages from $4,400 to $12,999. Clutch minimums for the agencies here range from $1,000 to $10,000.
What is the difference between a DTC email agency and a retention agency?
An email agency runs email and SMS. A retention agency owns repeat-purchase profit and lifetime value, which adds push, direct mail, subscriptions, memberships, loyalty and referrals.
How do I choose an email marketing agency for my DTC brand?
Ask who works on your account weekly and how senior they are, ask for a written 90-day plan before you sign, and ask to see results inside real Klaviyo dashboards. Then agree which tool and attribution window will measure the result.
What should email and SMS earn for a DTC brand?
In the best-performing, growing accounts we see, email and SMS drive 30 to 40% of store revenue, roughly 80% from email. Most brands arrive at 10 to 15%, and that gap is what a good agency closes.
How long does it take to see results from an email agency?
First quick-win campaigns should go live within the first two weeks after kickoff, core flows within five to seven weeks, and a clear trend within about 90 days. An agency that cannot describe its first 60 days in specifics does not have a process.
Is a DTC brand too small for an email marketing agency?
Under about $1M in revenue, usually yes. A skilled freelancer, a low-minimum production shop or a coaching program returns more than a full retainer at that stage.
